I understand the challenges of dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, low self esteem, trauma, addiction and other emotional difficulties that is why I provide a tailored programme of therapy rather than a one size fits all approach.
Hi, I'm Jayne Shears and I am an EMDR and CBT psychotherapist offering online or face to face sessions on a weekly basis or through intensive sessions!
I offer psychological assessment and evidence-based treatments recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) for common psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. The service aims to help you regain a sense of enjoyment in your everyday life using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).

I provide effective, high-quality, evidence-based therapy to clients aged 18 and above in Suffolk, Norfolk, London, and further afield through online therapy, which works just as well as face-to-face sessions.
I’ve worked in the NHS for over 16 years, supporting individuals with a wide range of emotional difficulties. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT from Oxford University and am accredited with the BABCP. My specialised training includes trauma, OCD, depression, long-term conditions and pain and couples counselling.
I am passionate about working with individuals who have experienced traumatic events, including PTSD. As an accredited EMDR practitioner, I am also a member of the EMDR UK Association.
I accept GP, professional, and self-referrals, as well as referrals from insurance companies such as AXA, Aviva, and Cigna. Your employer may also cover the cost of your sessions.
Please ask them to contact me directly.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy recommended by NICE for a wide range of emotional and physical health problems. When we feel distressed, we often fall into unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour. CBT helps you identify and change these patterns so you can feel better.
The number of sessions required will depend on your specific difficulties, usually between 8 and 12 sessions. Tasks between sessions will be agreed at a pace you're comfortable with.
I now also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Couples Counselling.
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) is an eight-phase treatment developed by Francine Shapiro in 1987. EMDR is recommended by NICE and the World Health Organisation for PTSD and is now used effectively to treat a wide range of difficulties.
Attachment-focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) utilises the same framework of EMDR psychotherapy with an added attachment-repair focus. Psychological distress, even of the most complex kind, usually has its roots in early-life experiences of attachment in childhood, and the presence or usually absence of repair to emotional ruptures big and small – capturing how someone got to be the way they are now.
I aim to offer an assessment appointment within 2 days.
I am not able to offer a crisis management service.
If you feel that you are in crisis then please contact your GP, visit the mind website or telephone the Samaritans on 116 123.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
